“Another chapter begins with a familiar spark. Welcome back to where you belong, Bang Pineda!”

That’s how Petro Gazz announced the homecoming of veteran libero Bang Pineda, who is set to suit up once again for the Angels in the 2025 PVL season.

Known for her relentless hustle and unmistakable court presence, Pineda is no stranger to the shifting tides of club volleyball.

Her journey has seen her don the colors of various teams from the now-defunct Philippine SuperLiga to the current PVL.

Over the years, she has played for Cagayan Valley, Kia Forte, Petron, Generika, United VC, and Choco Mucho, before continuing her career with Sta. Lucia, Petro Gazz, Akari and, most recently, Nxled.

She was called up for national team duties in 2023, stepping in for injured standout Kath Arado as one of Alas Pilipinas’ liberos alongside Kyla Atienza.

She last played for the Angels in the 2022 season, and now she’s back in red and white with fresh fire.

With international experience now tucked under her belt and a deeper understanding of high-level competition, Pineda re-enters Petro Gazz’s roster with renewed grit.

Her comeback also arrives at a time of change for the Angels, who are undergoing a transition after the departure of head coach Koji Tsuzurabara — the tactician behind their historic 2025 PVL All-Filipino title run.

As the team resets and regroups, Pineda’s leadership and experience will be a vital presence in the backline.
