After a big win over Petro Gazz, the Nxled Chameleons make it two in a row in PVL on Tour after beating Choco Mucho.
Lyann De Guzman showed the way anew as the Nxled Chameleons completed another PVL on Tour stunner, this time over the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in four sets, 25-20, 26-28, 27-25, 25-22, at the Batangas City Sports Center on Sunday.
De Guzman, who debuted with 21 points against the Petro Gazz Angels, capped a 24-point outing with the game-winning ace in a tightly contested affair against the Flying Titans — giving Nxled a 2-0 start in the PVL on Tour.
Eager to prove their win over Petro Gazz was no fluke, Nxled started strong against championship contender Choco Mucho, taking the first set.
They then banked on their newfound confidence in the next two sets which ended up extended — while the Flying Titans were able to ride the coattails of veteran players Isa Molde and Des Cheng to take set 2, the Chameleons were left unwavering.
In set 4, Nxled dug deep to hang on in a back-and-forth affair that saw De Guzman being checked, with the Flying Titans seizing the lead, 22-21.
But an unfortunate service error from Aduke Ogunsaya kept the door ajar for the closeout from the Chameleons.
Another rookie in Mayang Nuique swayed momentum with a big block on Molde to give the Chameleons the lead, 23-22, before skipper Chiara Permentilla and De Guzman supplied the last two points to complete the win for the Chameleons.
Nxled thus leaves Batangas with a 2-0 record while Choco Mucho falls to 1-1.
