Rookies Lyann De Guzman and Mayang Nuique are slated to boost the NXLED Chameleons as they go up in the PVL on Tour against the Petro Gazz Angels, who are without Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips.
With prized rookies Lyann De Guzman and Mayang Nuique now in the fold, the NXLED Chameleons aim to showcase their retooled arsenal when they face a shorthanded Petro Gazz Angels in the PVL on Tour on Saturday, June 28 at the Batangas City Sports Center.
Both De Guzman and Nuique, selected by NXLED in the recent PVL rookie draft, are expected to bring youthful energy and scoring firepower to a squad looking to rise from the lower half of the standings.
The Chameleons will also continue to lean on veteran scorers Chiara Permentilla and EJ Laure as they test their chemistry in this preseason tune-up.
Petro Gazz, meanwhile, will be without star spikers Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips, both of whom are serving national team duties with Alas Pilipinas.
In their absence, the Angels will rely on steady hands Jonah Sabete and veteran opposite Aiza Maizo-Pontillas to carry the scoring load.
While Petro Gazz finished strong in the last All-Filipino Conference, NXLED is eager to flip the script with a deeper bench and the addition of young blood. Petro Gazz will field just one rookie—setter Julyana Tolentino out of La Salle—as they continue to bank on their tested core.
Saturday’s clash offers a compelling look at how NXLED’s revamped lineup stacks up against one of the league’s most consistent contenders—and how both teams are adjusting ahead of the next conference.
