There’s no denying the value three-time UAAP MVP Bella Belen can give to the Capital1 Solar Spikers as they go no. 1 overall in the upcoming PVL Draft.
For Capital1 captain Jorelle Singh, there is only one answer on who the Solar Spikers should select when they choose the top pick for the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft coming next weekend.
With three-time UAAP MVP Bella Belen throwing her hat in among the draft prospects, Singh has no doubt on the impact that the NU star can have on a budding team like Capital1.
“Kasi [sa team], feeling ko kailangan namin yung all-around. So para sakin, Bella talaga,” Singh said on Capital1's Draft prospects during PVL Press Corps Awards Night last Wednesday.
“Pero syempre, may chance pa siya mag-withdraw so, [kung hindi si Bella], sana middle [blocker],” added the veteran hitter.
Singh can rest easy, as Belen officially confirmed her intention to push through with the PVL Draft, putting the ball on Capital1's court.
The consensus no. 1 pick, Belen skipped Day 1 of the PVL Draft Combine to attend the 2025 Palarong Pambansa, but made sure to make an appearance for Day 2 on Saturday.

As far as Capital1 is concerned, the Solar Spikers are just eager to make the most of the opportunity that they got with the lottery win for the no. 1 pick.
Following conferences of promising results, Singh hopes that their next draft pick, whether it be Belen or not, will bring renewed vigor to the Solar Spikers to continue pushing and hopefully establish themselves as contenders.
“Happy kami kasi syempre, ang daming may gusto na mag-no. 1 pick. So, parang chance lang ito sa team namin na mag-upgrade,” she said.
“Ngayon, feeling ko aabangan yung team namin kasi maraming bago eh. So, excited pa ako na madagdagan pa kami ng mga bata, so, abangan niyo nalang po kami,” she added.
Singh and the Capital1 Solar Spikers will be the first team to pick among the talented prospects who tossed their name in the Rookie Draft slated for Sunday, June 8.
