La Salle standout Alleiah Malaluan keeps coach Ramil de Jesus’ lesson in mind as she eyes a fresh start in the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft.
Alleiah Malaluan received a timely reminder from none other than DLSU head coach Ramil De Jesus as she heads into the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft.
Having been under the La Salle system since her high school days in Zobel, Malaluan is ready to take the next step in her volleyball career.
The 22-year-old outside hitter shared that she declared for the Draft with growth as her main motivation.
“More on growth lang siya kasi I wanna see what’s beyond me outside La Salle,” Malaluan told reporters during the first day of the Draft Combine.
Despite falling short of their ultimate goal in Season 87, Malaluan, along with three other Lady Spikers, got the blessing of De Jesus to head into the pros.
But even as they depart from La Salle, Malaluan shared that she is holding on to De Jesus’ reminder about their new journey ahead.
“Sinabi niya it will be so much different, like life as a pro,” Malaluan told reporters. “Sobrang bilis and mahihirapan ako. Pero, you know, like I need time to adjust with it. So, yeah, I’m just trusting the process now.”
History should favor Malaluan after four La Salle players were chosen in the first round last year. But even with this in mind, she’s embracing the idea of starting from scratch.
“I’m actually not thinking about it much kasi, you know, lahat dito, back to zero kami. Equal lang yung tingin sa amin. So, if ever man mapalad, edi thank you, Lord.”

Despite the adjustment curve that awaits her, Malaluan believes she brings value to any team willing to take a chance on her.
“Siguro, my knowledge about the sport and at the same time the experience that I had the past few years that I’m playing.”
