After leading Petro Gazz to a maiden All-Filipino crown, Brooke Van Sickle will be recognized as Season MVP at the PVL Press Corps Awards Night.
Petro Gazz Angels star Brooke Van Sickle will be recognized as the Season MVP at the upcoming PVL Press Corps Awards Night after her outstanding performance in the past year.
Highlighted by the Angels’ maiden PVL All-Filipino Conference crown last month, Van Sickle’s heroics were recognized by the journalists from print and online covering the league, and also by her fellow players and coaches.

She topped the voting with a weighted score of 277.6 points, calculated based on 50 percet statistics, 30 percent media votes, and 20 percent team votes.
The driving force behind the Angels’ title run moved past Creamline’s MVP duo of Bernadeth Pons and Michele Gumabao.
Reinforced Conference MVP Pons placed second with 205.6 points, while Gumabao settled for a distant third with 151.4 points.
Van Sickle’s win comes as the cherry on top for the Angels after some highs and lows in the season.
During the Reinforced Conference, the Angels saw their three-peat bid shattered in the quarterfinals, which also ruled them ineligible them from competing at the Invitational Conference to end the year.
But in the lengthy 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference, the Angels came back with a vengeance with Van Sickle leading the charge.
Van Sickle’s consistency resulted in her claiming the Best Outside Hitter honors in both the Reinforced and All-Filipino Conferences, while she also nabbed her second straight conference MVP plum in the AFC.
During her MVP run in the All-Filipino, the Hawaiian-born spiker finished third in scoring after registering 349 points, and led the league in service winners with 23 aces. She also placed second in spiking.
On the defensive end, Van Sickle proved to be just as reliable, placing third in receiving with a 35.37 percent efficiency, and sixth in digging with 2.89 digs per set.
Van Sickle is slated to be awarded the MVP, and as part of the Mythical Team at the PVL Press Corps Awards Night at Novotel on May 28. The awards show is supported by Pilipinas Live.
