As Petro Gazz claimed its first-ever PVL All-Filipino title, Remy Palma immediately went to Japanese coach Koji Tsuzurabara as the two shared an emotional moment on the taraflex.
As the final whistle confirmed Petro Gazz’s first-ever PVL All-Filipino Conference championship, team captain Remy Palma walked straight to coach Koji Tsuzurabara.
The two shared a tight embrace, shedding tears as the Angels finally returned to the mountaintop.
At that moment, Palma admitted that all the memories, all the arguments, and all the struggles suddenly came to her, realizing that it was all worth it.
“Coach Koji and I have this unique love and hate relationship, parang tatay at anak lang din na kahit may mga pagkakataong hindi man kami nagkakasundo minsan, pero mas mananaig 'yung purpose to make it and reach our goals,” Palma shared to reporters.
“Nag-flashback lang din siguro sa akin lahat yung pinagdaanan ng team over the past six months.”
While Palma’s minutes dwindled as the playoffs unfolded, her role behind the scenes only grew, shifting from middle blocker to emotional anchor and vocal leader for the Angels.
“Being the team captain, I looked at it as being both a leader and a follower. Mahirap yung role, pero 'di ako pinanghihinaan ng loob kasi kasama ko 'yung mga teammates ko at coaches ko sa pag-fulfill neto,” she said.

After falling short in 2023, the Angels finally took home the one title that had eluded them for many years—something that Palma believes rewrote the narrative around her squad.
“Back in 2023 we almost took the crown, pero ayun nga laging ‘almost,’” Palma said. “But now we are living our dream of becoming the champions in the 2025 All-Filipino Conference. We proved to everybody na hindi na lang kami pang Reinforced Conference.”

Now with the All-Filipino title in their hands, Palma knows Petro Gazz’s championship is more than just a trophy—it’s a moment etched forever.
