Louie Romero and the Farm Fresh Foxies are all smiles after scoring their first win in the PVL All-Filipino Conference--a huge upset against the Akari Chargers.
After three tries, the Farm Fresh Foxies finally secured their first win in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
It couldn't have been any bigger as the Foxies scored a huge upset win against the Akari Chargers in straight sets, 25-23, 25-21, 25-14, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Saturday, November 30.
Coming from two straight-set defeats, Farm Fresh finally found the right game plan to take down a contending team like Akari.
The Foxies were lead by team captain Louie Romero, who dished out 19 excellent sets.
Talagang pinag-tinrabahuan lang namin lahat and nag-contribute lang kami, and nag-tiwala lang kami sa mga coaches namin kung papaano namin makukuha ‘yung game plan,” said Romero.
Trisha Tubu had an efficient scoring game for Farm Fresh with 21 points on 18-of-36 attacks. Alyssa Bertolano added six markers to go along with 11 excellent digs and seven excellent receptions.
Ivy Lacsina paced the Chargers with 13 points, being the lone double-digit scorer for the team in the loss.
Farm Fresh goes for back-to-back wins against their sister team, ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles on Tuesday, December 5 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.
Meanwhile, Akari will look to end its two-game losing streak against the Petro Gazz Angels on the same day and venue.
