It wasn’t the ending Khat Bell had hoped when she returned to the Philippines with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference.

Bell gave it her all in the Crossovers’ quarterfinal defeat against the PLDT High Speed Hitters, finishing with 40 big points.

Despite the heartbreaking exit, the 31-year-old outside hitter remains positive about her experience with Chery Tiggo.

“Yeah I mean, it sucks. We got into a situation we obviously don't want to be in. I was really looking forward to moving to the next round. But things happen, and it's just part of a small setback to a bigger picture,” Bell told reporters during the Crossovers exit interview.

Success followed Bell during her earlier stint in the country, as she won back-to-back titles in the Philippine Super Liga in 2018 and 2019 with the Petro Blaze Spikers.

And while her title aspirations with Chery Tiggo fell short, the American spiker felt even more at home with her new experiences in the PVL.

“I think it's special and different because I got to experience playing with girls I've always competed against. Just being able to have those relationships and have that dynamic with those girls and be part of being on their side of the net has just been great,” Bell explained.

“They come in and just welcomed me with open arms and everybody's been just so loving and so caring. This is like being home for me and it's been very special for me,” she added.

Bell will return to the United States for League One Volleyball, where she signed a two-year contract.

But even with that going on, the 6-foot-2 outside hitter hopes her schedule will align with next season’s Reinforced Conference to make another return with the Crossovers.

“Good thing about that is depending on the schedule of the Reinforced Conference in the Philippines between May and November, I will obviously love to be here. That would be my thing, just playing here in the summertime in your season then playing back in the States in the cool season,” Bell explained.
