The much-awaited PLDT debut of Kianna Dy remains uncertain ahead of the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference, which opens in July,

Dy is steadily recuperating from a right knee injury she sustained during the 2023 Invitational Conference while playing for the now-defunct F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.

"I’m doing good...Well, with my injury, we’re going day-by-day. And I just don’t want to give a specific date when I’m going to play because ayaw kong paasahin din 'yung sarili ko and also the supporters," the 28-year-old said.

"So, we just go day-by-day and see what happens."

This injury has sidelined Dy for the entire 2024 All-Filipino Conference.

Despite not having played a single game with the High Speed Hitters, the 5-foot-10 winger continues to make her presence felt by actively participating in team events.

Her commitment to the squad was evident when she, along with teammates Kim Fajardo, Rachel Austero, Kiesha Bedonia, and Erika Santos, attended the PLDT Home Meet and Greet held at the company's booth at the Mall of Asia Arena in Day 5 of the 2024 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Manila leg on Saturday, June 22.

After the meet and greet, Dy seized the chance to watch world-class volleyball action.

"VNL is such a big event and we’re very proud to support the VNL and you know it’s high-level play here. So, it’s nice watching players from other countries play here," she shared.

As a self-confessed fan of the anime series "Haikyu!!", Dy expressed her excitement about watching Team Japan take on France later in the day.

"I actually am very excited to watch Japan, the next game because you know, they’re real life Haikyuu and I grew up watching Haikyuu so I’m very excited to watch them play," she said.
