Fifi Sharma and the Akari Chargers closed out their 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference with a drubbing of the Strong Group Athletics.
The Akari Chargers had an electrifying finish to their 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference after belting the Strong Group Athletics with a straight-set whipping, 25-8, 25-15, 25-16, at the PhilSports Arena Saturday.
The Chargers barely felt any resistance from start to finish, dropping the curtains down on their campaign with a 5-6 record for seventh place.
The dominant win also served as the perfect birthday gift for Fifi Sharma, who just turned 23 years old and emerged as the Player of the Game with nine points built on five blocks and four attacks.
Dindin Santiago-Manabat top scored with 12 points on nine spikes, two rejections, and an ace, while Grethcel Soltones and Faith Nisperos pitched in nine markers apiece. Soltones also collected 13 digs while Nisperos tallied 10 receptions.
Jaja Maraguinot tossed 15 excellent sets for the Chargers, who strung 15 digs and seven receptions from Max Juangco.
It was a concerted effort for Akari, despite missing the services of Ced Domingo, Trisha Genesis, and Erika Raagas
SGA, on the other hand, could not chalk up a single victory in 11 outings, coming up winless in its maiden run.
Dolly Verzosa poured a near triple-double effort of 10 points, 12 digs, and eight receptions that went for naught.
