The Cignal HD Spikers dispatched the Nxled Chameleons to create a deadlock atop the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference standings.
The Cignal HD Spikers have made three wins in a row after dispatching the Nxled Chameleons in straight sets, 25-21, 25-17, 25-21, in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena on Thursday.
With the win, the HD Spikers forge a three-way logjam at pole position with the Creamline Cool Smashers and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans.
Ces Molina topscored with 14 points built on 11 attacks, two blocks and an ace, while collecting eight receptions for the HD Spikers.
Roselyn Doria contributed 10 markers, while Riri Meneses and Jovelyn Gonzaga backstopped with eight apiece.
Cignal looked poise for a comfortable sweep as it sprinted to a 10-3 separation in the decisive third. In the ensuing sequence, disaster struck for Nxled as Ivy Lacsina sustained an apparent left knee injury after colliding with Dani Ravena.
The HD Spikers then ballooned the cushion to 23-10. However, the Chameleons refused to go down without a fight and unloaded a blistering 11-1 surge, knocking to within three at 21-24.
That proved to be the last hurrah for Nxled as Chai Troncoso sealed the deal for Cignal.
Jho Maraguinot finished with a double-double of 11 points and 12 receptions that went for naught as the Chameleons remain winless in three outings.
Lycha Ebon had nine markers in the losing cause, while Lacsina scored eight before leaving the court.
Cignal is aiming to sustain its winning momentum when it collides with Choco Mucho on March 14, Thursday.
Nxled, on the other hand, seeks a breakthrough when it faces fellow winless squad Galeries Tower on March 12, Tuesday.
The matches will air on One Sports, One Sports+, and the Pilipinas Live app.
