The Farm Fresh Foxies are off to a promising start in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

The Foxies put up a gallant stand in the face of the defending champions Creamline Cool Smashers in their campaign-opening 36-34, 23-25, 22-25, 15-25 loss last Saturday, before breaking through on Thursday.

Farm Fresh delivered a resounding beatdown of league neophyte Capital1 in straight sets, 25-16, 25-18, 25-16, for its first victory.

If the 1-1 win-loss record would be any indication, the Foxies are heading in the right direction, Trisha Tubu believes.

"Nung first game pong ‘yun, marami rin po kaming natutunan na alam naming magagamit namin at makakatulong sa team namin all throughout the season," Tubu said.

For captain Louie Romero, she acknowledges the team's renewed character.

"Medyo nangangapa kami, pero nakita ko sa teammates ko 'yung tapang na ito 'yung Farm Fresh. Ito 'yung gusto naming patunayan," Romero shared.

Wins came few and far in between for Farm Fresh last year.

Following a winless campaign in 2023 Invitational Conference, the Foxies finished the Second All-Filipino Conference with a 2-9 card.

The beleaguered club team then made changes to its roster, most notable of which is the acquisition of Caitlin Viray and Jolina Dela Cruz.

Farm Fresh also tapped Japanese mentors Hideo Suzuki and Shimizu Mikihiro.

With new recruits and an enhanced system in place, the Foxies have begun to leave the nightmare of the past.

"More connections, more trainings, more practices, magkakasama rin kami sa bahay so ayun yung confidence namin sa galaw namin talagang tumaas," Tubu shared.

Romero chimed in, saying: "Marami pa kaming ina-adjust as a team and individually na kailangan namin gawin para mapaghandaan 'yung mga next na kalaban."

The Foxies seek to continue building their confidence as the season moves along. Up next for them will be the win-hungry Akari Chargers on March 5, Tuesday.

The match will air on One Sports, One Sports+, and the Pilipinas Live app.
