Chery Tiggo head coach Kungfu Reyes is making the most out of his deep arsenal in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Chery Tiggo Crossovers head coach Kungfu Reyes flaunted the depth of his arsenal in their 2-0 start in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The seasoned tactician fielded all of his wards in their season-opening rout of Capital1. In that match, Eya Laure came off the bench as Aby Maraño, Ara Galang, Mylene Paat, Princess Robles, and Pauline Gaston started for the Crossovers.
He then banked on the same scheme in the straight-set demolition of Strong Group Athletics on Saturday. This time, it was Eya and EJ Laure, along with Cza Carandang, Seth Rodriguez, and Shaya Adorador played as starters.
They all scored anyway.
The reason behind this move is to keep the Crossovers in peak condition for the long season ahead.
"So far hindi namin bubugbugin ‘yung players namin, so medyo mahaba haba ‘yung liga. So mas marami kaming combination or set of players kaya tinitimpla namin lahat," Reyes bared.
Health and conditioning were factors in Chery Tiggo's slowdown in the latter part of the 2023 PVL Second All-Filipino Conference, something the fiery coach is looking to avoid this time.

Shuffling Chery Tiggo's rotation has worked wonders for Reyes.
The game plan has allowed the Crossovers to experiment on team dynamics and chemistry. This also helps further integrate newcomers Aby Maraño and Ara Galang into the system.
"Ang mina-maintain kasi namin dito ‘yung, malalim talaga ‘yung bench, pero ‘yung timing ng transition ng tao, ‘yung palitan ng tao at ‘yung composition ng tao, ‘yun ang inaalagaan namin ngayon at the same time," the UST head coach shared.
With a better grasp of the weapons at his disposal, Reyes is eager to further enhance Chery Tiggo's system.
"Mage-enhance ulit kami, magpo-polish ulit kami kung saan kami nagkukulang. Dadagdagan namin kung ano pa ‘yung kulang namin and the rest will follow. Basta ang maganda samin ay everyday training, paangat nang paangat," he said,
The Crossovers aims to continue showcasing their depth when they collide with last year's finalists Choco Mucho Flying Titans on March 2, Saturday, at 6 p.m.
It will air on One Sports, One Sports+, and the Pilipinas Live app.
