Linking up with Aby Maraño has worked wonders for Mylene Paat on and off the court. The BFFs are now playing together for the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Nothing provides a bigger boost for an athlete than sharing the court with a close friend.
Such is the case for swishters Mylene Paat and Aby Maraño, who have now forged a passion-fueled duo as part of the Chery Tiggo Crossovers.
"Actually, playing with my best friend is talagang ang gaan lang talaga. Parang sa mentality ko, sa mismong katawan ko, like nabu-boost eh," Paat gushed moments after scoring 10 points in Chery Tiggo's straight-set rout of SGA.
Paat and Maraño share a long history together.
The two had started their enduring friendship when they suited up for the Philippine women's volleyball team in the past.
Destiny would then bring them together in Chery Tiggo, after Maraño had to find a new home in the wake of F2 Logistics' disbandment.
Now donning the same bright red threads of the Crossovers, Paat and Maraño are relishing every moment together.
While having fun, the two have also led Chery Tiggo to success.
The Crossovers bagged a bronze medal in the PNVF Champions League before coasting to a 2-0 winning start in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Team captain Tyang Aby was ever supportive for Mama P in her Player of the Game Interview against the Strong Group Athletics, jokingly serving as her masseuse.
Paat hopes her relationship with Maraño remains to be as strong as ever.
"Ayun, sa flow naman ng nilalaro namin, I hope na mag-tuloy tuloy pa rin yung communication namin, yung magandang samahan namin sa loob ng court, and of course kahit naman sa labas," she bared.
Maraño shared how Paat found new energy as they became teammates in the professional league.
"Iba na 'yung energy ng sister ko 'pag kasama sa lahat ng bagay, madaldal, kulitan. Makikita na 'yung makulit na side ni Mylene. Siguro dahil nandito ako, swishters kami, sisters from another mother, parang nagiging natural na ulit 'yung dating Mylene," Maraño told One Sports in an interview before the start of the conference.

Expect the swishters to slay further in the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The Chery Tiggo Crossovers will next take on the Choco Mucho Flying Titans on March 2, 6 p.m., at the Philsports Arena. It will be aired on One Sports, One Sports+, and the Pilipinas Live app.
