The debut of Nxled’s star PVL signing will have to wait for a bit.

Nevertheless, Ivy Lacsina is eager to suit up for the Chameleons this March as she continues to recover from a right knee injury sustained in practice.

"Madaming nangyayari sa akin kasi nagka-injury ako sa tuhod," bared the 24-year-old rising star following Nxled's bronze-medal-clinching win over Ateneo in the 2024 Akari Invitational Cup on Wednesday.

"Ano po timeline ko po is March pero depende po ‘yun sa progress ko kung hanggang saan po siya kaya," she added.

Lacsina, who played her first professional season with the F2 Logistics, shared that Nxled head coach Taka Minowa eased her back into training soon after the pain has become tolerable.

"Sa ngayon medyo may pain pa siya," she said.

"Pero at the same time si coach Taka naman pinapapalo niya pa rin ako kahit standing lang, service and passing. Hindi naman totally nahuhuli and kaya naman humabol."

As Lacsina aims to lead the Chameleons in their bid for PVL contention, she is wise enough to acknowledge that recovery is essential and she should trust the process.

"Ngayon naman po medyo mas okay na po siya kaya confident kami na kaya humabol. Siguro hindi lang sa mga first few days pero at the same time ‘yung mga susunod na game," the former National University stalwart stated as the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference will go into full swing this February 20.

"Sabi ng doctor is mahahabol naman siya and hindi naman ako minamadali."
