The University of the East's Ja Lana will be entering the pros as part of Capital1 Solar Spikers, the newest team to compete in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference which will be opening on February 20.

She and fellow Lady Red Warrior Jel Quizon have been announced on Thursday as part of Capital1's lineup.

Also joining Capital1 are Arianne Layug and Bingle Landicho who previously suited up for the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, Renesa Melgar who last played for the Galeries Tower Highrisers, Des Clemente of the Petro Gazz Angels, Shyra Umandal of the Gerflor Defenders, and May Macatuno who formerly competed with the Cignal HD Spikers.

The Solar Spikers have also added Cathrina Dizon, Sydney Niegos, Kath Villegas, and Rica Rivera.

Capital1 earlier introduced former Nxled Chameleon Jannine Navarro, former Angel Heather Guino-o, former F2 Logistics Cargo Mover Rovee Instrella as part of the lineup, along with former PLDT High Speed Hitter Jorelle Singh.

The squad first introduced themselves to the media as the Power Spikers, but a statement listing their initial lineup had Capital1 rename the team to the Solar Spikers.

"This will be a good opportunity for them to shine and be recognized so we are giving our all-out support to the team," said young Solar Spikers co-owner Mandy Romero, who heads the family-owned solar energy company. "My sister and I are hoping we can grow together in support of PH sports, especially volleyball."

"We are not in a hurry, we take it one step at time until we build a winning culture. That’s our goal," added sister and co-owner Milka.

Coach Roger Gorayeb, who will serve as tactician for the squad, says the Solar Spikers have plenty to prove this season.

"Gutom sa playing time ang mga iyan, so they have this great desire to win games. Abangan niyo na lang sila," he said.

Five more players, including three veterans, will reinforce the Solar Spikers before the pro league begins.
