Kim Kianna Dy, Kim Fajardo, and Majoy Baron didn’t expect to hear that their squad F2 Logistics Cargo Movers would disband.

They didn’t expect to be reunited quite so soon as part of the PLDT High Speed Hitters either.

“‘Di ba nagbakasyon kami sa Dubai? Ako kasi, ‘dun ko lang nalaman. Ewan ko sa kanila,” Fajardo said on One Sports’ The Game.

“Wala na kaming pinag-usapan na dapat dito, dapat ganyan. Pero nagtatanungan kami saan ka at sino kumukuha [sa ‘yo]. Pero never kami nag-usap, ‘O dito tayong tatlo ah.’ Walang package na ganun,” she added.

In PLDT, the three players who grew under the tutelage of DLSU Lady Spikers coach Ramil de Jesus would be reunited with their schoolmates Mika Reyes and Erika Santos.

“Actually, ‘di ko rin naisip na oo nga no, ang dami kong former teammates,” Baron mused.

KAF and Rhea

For veteran setter Kim Fajardo, joining PLDT meant learning something new from the playmaker she has idolized since high school, Rhea Dimaculangan.

“Ate Rhea is here. Factor din ‘yung alam ko kung paano siya in a way magpatakbo ng team,” Fajardo shared in a separate interview with One Sports.

She wants to learn more and to become better.

“Honestly, kinakabahan ako. Ito ‘yung unang beses na umalis (ako) sa comfort zone from college, the La Sallian culture. Nakaka-excite na nakakakaba, bagong sistema,” Fajardo admitted.

“Personally, ako, gusto kong mahigitan ‘yung previous (achievements). Gusto kong umangat ng umangat.”

Idol Savi!

Opposite spiker Kim Kianna Dy has yet to fully return to play, but she has already started undertaking drills on the court.

“Super exciting actually,” she admitted to One Sports. “Kahit sabi nila na take it slow, for me gusto ko na mag-training kasi first day. Pretty exciting.”

Where else to get fitspiration than super spiker Savannah Davison?

“Every time I see her in training, as in mapapa-‘Grabe!’ Even in lifting weights, she lifts so heavy. Super na-inspire ka rin to reach what she can do. She jumps so high, she spikes hard, and she’s still young!” Dy gushed on The Game

KKD is also grateful to have a team that wants her.

“I mainly chose the team where I feel I would fit or where I see that I’m needed,” she expressed.

Majoy and the modern approach to volleyball

Meanwhile, middle blocker Majoy Baron wants a place where she can further improve her attacks. She thinks she can find that growth with coach Rald Ricafort.

“For me, labanan ngayon ng technical eh. Okay siya sa stats,” Baron told One Sports.

“He knows how to work out that aspect of volleyball. I think may edge ‘yun, mas modern ‘yung approach.”

But really, they want to complete some unfinished business.

F2 Logistics was unable to reach the podium of the 2023 PVL Second All-Filipino Conference, after finishing bronze during the first All-Filipino last year.

Meanwhile, PLDT’s best finish in the PVL was fourth place.

“‘Yung gigil,” Baron emphasized. “Gusto kong may patunayan as a team, not just as an individual.”

“‘Yung fire, dahil nga ‘di okay ‘yung nangyari (sa F2 Logistics), ‘yung fire na gusto naming bumawi,” she added.

Fajardo shared the same views.

“Gusto kong matulungan sila na maka-podium finish,” she said. “Gusto ko magkakasama kami, first time mag-podium.”

They didn’t expect to be here together in PLDT, but who knows? Maybe it’s the stars aligning for this trio.
