Creamline Cool Smashers coach Sherwin Meneses is not about to let this string of victories get to their heads.

After beating Akari Chargers, 26-28, 25-14, 25-23, 25-22 and cruising to an immaculate 10-0 win-loss record in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference, Meneses is making sure the Cool Smashers are not getting ahead of themselves.

“Happy kami kasi 10-0, pero hindi pa naman tapos elimination, then may semifinals pa. Continue pa kami sa ensayo,” said Meneses, whose team is already assured of a semifinal berth.

It’s the same refrain for the rest of the Cool Smashers. In a  previous interview, Jema Galanza also shared his mentor’s sentiment.

“Focus lang namin malaro namin kung ano tine-training namin at sistema. Palapit na palapit semis so mas kailangan namin ma-perfect mga galaw namin sa court,” she said.

For Meneses and the Cool Smashers, it doesn’t matter how they end up in the rankings after the elimination round. What’s important is they will continue to get better for tougher games in the semifinals.

“Lagi lang naming iniisip every game. Tulad niyan may game pa kami sa Tuesday. ‘Yun muna iniisip namin,” he said.

“Kung mag-rank one, edi okay. Kasi wala naman advantage sa top four so okay na kung san kami mapunta.”

Creamline will wrap up its campaign against the Galeries Tower Highrisers on Tuesday. Gametime is set at 4 p.m. at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
