'Empty my cup': Aduke Ogunsanya has perfect response on continuing to recover from ACL injury

PVL

Choco Mucho Flying Titans middle blocker Aduke Ogunsanya has the perfect mindset as she continues to recover from her ACL injury.

She scored six points, including an ace, in the sweep of the Nxled Chameleons last Tuesday in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference. But it wasn't easy to get there.

"At first, mahirap siya, especially sa ACL. I didn't expect na ganun siya kasakit and hirap," she admitted to reporters after the match.

"Kilala ko sarili ko, mataas ('yung) pain tolerance ko. Kahit anong injury, I can play na iniinda 'yun. Ngayon parang nag-shift 'yung body ko na sakit lang nafi-feel," she shared. "Pero aside from that, I trusted the process."

"Challenge talaga siya, pero sabi ko kay coach, nafi-feel ko naman na nag-i-iimprove pero kulang pa," she added.

"I always empty my cup para may madagdag pa."

Ogunsanya previously shared to One Sports on the advice she can give others who have suffered a similar injury.

"I want others to know that our journey is a process. Iba-iba tayo ng journey, but I want other people na kakayanin as long as mag-persevere and optimistic with what you want," she earlier said.

Choco Mucho is down one athlete after Des Cheng experienced an ACL tear earlier in the conference.

For now, Aduke is emptying her cup of pain. She's filling it up with music instead, and shared it with reporters as she serenaded them with Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You."
