The PLDT High Speed Hitters are looking to make a strong statement in the upcoming PVL Second All-Filipino Conference.
Captain Mika Reyes has a bold claim for the squad seeking its first title and podium finish in the league.
"Masasabi ko na masu-surprise talaga kayo sa amin this conference," Reyes said in an interview with One News' The Game.
Reyes might be onto something when she said that because the High Speed Hitters might have the biggest signing during the off-season. PLDT powered up with the acquisition of US NCAA Division I hitter Savannah Davison.
Veteran Royse Tubino has also extended her stay with the rejuvenated team.
PLDT is targeting to improve its fifth-place finish in the previous PVL Invitational Conference. In the first All-Filipino Conference to start the season, PLDT reached the semifinals and pushed the Petro Gazz Angels to Game 3, although they lost in the bronze medal series against the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.
Expectations will be high for the High Speed Hitters with an intact lineup, backed by their recruit.
The PVL Second All-Filipino Conference will open on October 15, Monday.
