Talk about having beauty and brains.
What does Jeremy Lin and Kalei Mau have in common? Well, several things.
For one, they are both terrific athletes. Lin is the man behind the Linsanity phenomenon in the NBA. Mau on the other hand, is a volleyball star who makes her presence felt whatever tournament she’s a part of.
Second, both are Asian Americans. Lin’s Asian side comes from Chinese Taipei while Mau’s is obviously from the Philippines.
And third, these two individuals were able to make it to Harvard. Lin attended the Ivy League school from 2006 to 2010 and killed it as a member of the Crimson men’s basketball team. Recently, Mau took to Instagram to show that she’s now a Harvard Business School student.
“Life update: I go to Harvard,” Mau posted.
The 28-year-old outside hitter’s latest achievement is no small feat. That’s why a couple of her former teammates from the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers felt compelled to give Kalei her flowers through the comments section.
“Wow, go, Kalei,” commented F2 superstar Kim Kianna Dy.
Former F2 reinforcement Lindsay Stalzer sent the 6-foot-2 spiker some love as well.
“You’re amazing! Way to go, Lei,” Stalzer said.
Getting into Harvard Business School, one of the best in the United States, is a big deal. Sometimes even Ivy Leaguers with outstanding Grade Point Average (GPA) and even more impressive Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores don't make the cut into this post-grad school. But Kalei got in.
On that note, a standing ovation with matching slow clap is in order for the one and only Kalei Mau.
