Imagine learning from a multi-awarded setter in Rhea Dimaculangan and an analytical tactician in Rald Ricafort.

The PLDT High Speed Hitters on Saturday announced Venice Puzon as a new setter for the PVL Invitational Conference.

Puzon was hailed as the NCAA Best Setter for Season 97 and Season 98 for the Lyceum Lady Pirates, which ended up as runners-up to the Benilde Lady Blazers this year.

Puzon is expected to be a much-needed back-up for veteran setter Rhea Dimaculangan, after the High Speed Hitters released Wendy Semana along with Ysa Jimenez.

PLDT though clarified that Puzon is playing under the special guest license from the Games and Amusements Board.

The NCAA earlier allowed its students to compete in commercial leagues using this license without foregoing their eligibility to play at the collegiate level.

Puzon will be joining former Army Black Mamba Lady Trooper Royse Tubino as the PLDT recruits.

The High Speed Hitters have been drawn in Group A to compete against the defending champions Creamline Cool Smashers, along with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, the Akari Chargers, and the new squad Gerflor Defenders.

Only the top two teams will advance to the semifinals, where they will compete in another round-robin against two foreign guest squads. The PVL Invitational Conference will begin on June 27.
