The Cool Smashers have another player to worry about heading into Game 2.
The Petro Gazz Angels finally defeated the Creamline Cool Smashers after four years. It came at the best time possible as the Oliver Almadro-mentored squad took Game 1 of the PVL All-Filipino Conference finals, vanquishing coach Sherwin Meneses and his wards in four sets. Given the circumstances, the Angels’ victory at the Mall of Asia on Sunday was a big deal, but they still need another win to ultimately get the job done.
With that in mind, Petro Gazz top middle blocker Remy Palma explained what she thinks she needs to do to help the Angels finish off what they started.
“Ang saya ‘nung moment pero hindi kami puwede mag-dwell ‘dun sa moment . . . Ayaw ko naman din makontento na nakakuha kami ng win sa kanila,” Palma told Jamie Velasco of One Sports Digital after the championship opener.
“So, ako rin, and dami ko talagang lapses today. Ang dami ko pang dapat i-adjust. Ang dami ko pang dapat pag-aralan para mas makatulong pa sa team,” she added.
It appears as if Palma and the rest of the Angels are ready to work even harder in preparation for the next game. They have a great opportunity to win it all via sweep, and they are not about to let that golden chance slip by that easily. Talking about what she can do for her club come Game 2, the FEU Lady Tamaraws product made a promise to the fans of Petro Gazz.
“Siguro this coming Game 2, for me, myself and I, ibibigay ko pa rin talaga ‘yung best ko every time na tatapak ako sa court . . . Hindi naman ako extraordinary na player [so] siguro, ‘yun, pang ibibigay ko na lang ‘yung puso ko kapag naglalaro talaga ako,” Palma said.
Game 2 of the PVL All-Filipino Conference championship series takes place this Tuesday.
