With Ramil de Jesus making his first appearance in the PVL, the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers shrugged off a first set loss before edging out the PLDT High Speed Hitters in four sets, 20-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-17, in Game 1 of the All-Filipino Conference's Battle for Third.

Aby Maraño led the charge in front of their former coach, with 19 points from 14 attacks and 5 blocks.

"Siguro, 'yung first part ng game nag-a-adjust pa kami. Nung nakapag-warm-up na nang maayos, na-feel ko na 'yung fire inside mo, kaya talaga for the go na," Maraño said in the post-game interview after being hailed as the Player of the Game.

Maraño said she just enjoyed the game.

"Forda show kung ano talaga ako, paano ako maglaro. Nakikita ko na kapag nage-enjoy ako at nalalabas ko sarili ko kapag naglalaro, nabo-boost din confidence ng mga kasama ko."

F2 Logistics went toe-to-toe with PLDT in terms of attack points and barely edged the High Speed Hitters in that department, 48-47.

The glaring difference was seen in the net defense comparison as the Cargo Movers dominated the blocks, 18-6.

Game 2 of the Battle for Third is set on Tuesday at the MOA Arena.
