It’s a bright start to 2023 for Diego Dario as he was signed to a deal by the Meralco Bolts.

Dario had been a practice player for the Bolts following his release from Blackwater back in June 2021.

During his time with Blackwater in the 2019 Philippine Cup, he averaged 3.4 points, 2.6 assists, 1.0 rebound in over 12 minutes a game.

Known for his shooting and playmaking, the former UP and Blackwater guard looks to provide a spark off the bench for a Meralco team that is looking to finally win its first championship in the PBA.

The 5-foot-7 guard, however, will have to earn his minutes as he will be playing behind fellow Meralco backcourt members in Chris Newsome, Aaron Black, and Chris Banchero.

Dario can make his debut in Meralco’s next game against the Northport Batang Pier on January 26, to be held at the PhilSports Arena.
