Aldin Ayo’s reply to fan criticizing Converge trades

Aldin Ayo’s reply to fan criticizing Converge trades

Aldin Ayo has found coaching success in various levels of basketball. He won an NCAA championship with Letran and a UAAP title with De La Salle. In his second season of coaching UST, he brought the team to the Finals of UAAP Season 82. After moving to the PBA to coach the Converge FiberXers, he led the team to an 8-4 record, good for fourth-best in the league.

Ayo's FiberXers recently made two trades that shook up their roster. First, they shipped Mike DiGregorio, RK Ilagan, and Tyrus Hill to Blackwater in exchange for Barkley Ebona and a 2023 Draft pick. Then, they traded Allyn Bulanadi for Jerrick Balanza, who was part of CSJL's 2015 championship team under Ayo.

One fan was not happy about the trades and voiced it out to the coach.

According to the unnamed FiberXers supporter, the 45-year-old strategist clearly got the short end of the stick from the multiplayer swap.

The fierce competitor that he is, Ayo didn’t take it sitting down. He indulged the unhappy fan by saying:

“Gusto mo usap tayo tungkol sa basketball. Pagbibigyan kita.”

And then, Ayo followed it up with a response that had us picturing him dropping the mic before walking away.

“Isip ka ng team sa PBA na nag champion na puro lang offensive awareness ang ginawa.”

We’ll see in the coming weeks if Coach Aldin Ayo will indeed prove his doubters wrong as the Converge FiberXers parade their new acquisitions including Kiwi import Ethan Rusbatch in the 2023 Governors' Cup.
