Mikey Williams and Converge made it social media official.

In a rare Instagram story Tuesday, March 3, Williams posted the FiberXers’ tarpaulin during their team building.

“It’s all God,” he wrote in the caption of the image where he was wearing a Converge jersey with his teammates and head coach Delta Pineda. “And just like that it begins.”

The former two-time champion with TNT is reinforcing a young Converge core featuring Juan Gomez de Liaño, Justine Baltazar, Justin Arana, and Alec Stockton.

Converge also recently beefed up its roster by trading for veteran Calvin Abueva and promising forward Jonnel Policarpio. Before signing with Converge, negotiations between Williams and the Tropang 5G always ended in a stalemate.

In June 2025, TNT finally let go of the signing rights of the two-time Finals MVP for then Converge hotshot Jordan Heading.

Williams hasn’t played in the PBA in three years or since steering the Tropang 5G to a 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup title.

Like most sportswriters, Jan Ballesteros once dreamed of becoming a professional hooper. But he learned the hard way that it’s not for everyone.

He continues to be involved in the sport he loves, but this time as a member of the PBA Press Corps. Aside from primarily covering the PBA, he is also assigned to cover Gilas Pilipinas.
