Calvin Abueva has found a new home.

The 37-year-old veteran has been traded to the Converge FiberXers by the Titan Ultra Giant Risers in exchange for King Caralipio, Mark Omega, and Rey Suerte.

This was confirmed by a post from the PBA social media page on Tuesday, February 3.

The move comes after a standout campaign for Abueva with Titan Ultra in the recently concluded PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup.

Despite Titan Ultra missing the playoffs, Abueva led the league in scoring during the elimination round with 23.6 points per game, adding 11.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists.

His performance earned him third place in the Best Player of the Conference race, behind eventual winner June Mar Fajardo and Converge rookie Juan Gomez de Liano—who will now be his teammate.

With Abueva on board, the FiberXers are hoping that his arrival will reignite a team still smarting from a quarterfinal loss in the All-Filipino Conference, where a twice-to-beat advantage slipped away against Barangay Ginebra.

In return, Titan Ultra received 31-year-old Rey Suerte, a veteran who entered the league through the 2019 Gilas special draft via Blackwater.

Caralipio, meanwhile, brings championship pedigree from his days with the Letran Knights in the NCAA, where he earned Finals MVP honors before signing with Converge in 2023.

Mark Omega, also a Letran product, was originally selected 20th overall in the second round of the Season 50 draft by Rain or Shine and then traded to Converge for the FiberXers’ future second-round pick.
