Calvin Oftana and RR Pogoy set the tone early as TNT did not waste time in dealing exiting Blackwater a loss in their PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup tussle Friday, Dec. 19.

Oftana and Pogoy combined for seven three-pointers as the Tropang 5G seized control with a 35-25 lead at the end of the opener quarter which they never relinquished.

At 7-3, TNT strengthened its solo hold of the third spot and is on track to secure a twice-to-beat incentive in the quarterfinals.

The Bossing closed out their campaign with their 10th straight loss against a solitary win.

The Tropang 5G could formalize their entry into the Top Four when they wrap up their elimination round assignment against Magnolia Sunday, Dec. 21.

Like most sportswriters, Jan Ballesteros once dreamed of becoming a professional hooper. But he learned the hard way that it’s not for everyone.

He continues to be involved in the sport he loves, but this time as a member of the PBA Press Corps. Aside from primarily covering the PBA, he is also assigned to cover Gilas Pilipinas.
