Meralco banked on a blistering start to best Converge and join the quarterfinal cast in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup Sunday, Dec. 14.
CJ Cansino was the sparkplug for the Bolts, accounting for 12 of their 33 points in the first quarter against the FiberXers' mere seven to claim their sixth win in 10 matches.
Cansino produced a career-high 29 points on 10-for-17 shooting for a third straight Player of the Game recognition.

Meralco went on a three-game winning streak, disrupting the Top Four-seeking FiberXers who dropped back-to-back games for a similar 6-4 slate.
The Bolts can still secure a twice-to-beat advantage but will have to go through defending champion San Miguel first on Friday, Dec. 19.

Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, with Meralco looking to get some insurance before letting the outcome of the remaining games seal their fate.
