Jason Perkins shared the motivation behind his conference-best 33 points in Phoenix's win vs Blackwater in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup Saturday, Dec. 6.
Jason Perkins did not want to see a fuming Phoenix coach Wily Wilson Saturday night, Dec. 6.
That is why the seasoned forward made sure to step up big time in the Fuel Masters’ 106-98 win over Blackwater in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup.
He wound up with a conference-high 33 points he laced with seven rebounds, two assists and a block as Phoenix bolstered its playoff hopes with a 3-6 record at joint ninth with Titan Ultra.
“Dapat [akong mag-step up.] Alam kong kailangang panalo [kami] kasi medyo traumatized ako from coach Willy last practice, galit siya,” said Perkins with a laugh.

Perkins then went on to laud the rookie mentor for doing a great job in his first conference at the helm.
“We’re just trying to follow coach Willy. He’s been doing a great job leading us. We’re just trying to take it day by day,” said Perkins.

Like most sportswriters, Jan Ballesteros once dreamed of becoming a professional hooper. But he learned the hard way that it’s not for everyone.
He continues to be involved in the sport he loves, but this time as a member of the PBA Press Corps. Aside from primarily covering the PBA, he is also assigned to cover Gilas Pilipinas.
