Additional help on the frontcourt is on the way for NLEX.

This as the Road Warriors acquired the services of forward Sidney Onwubere Thursday, Nov. 13.

The team announced this development on social media.

“Let’s all give a warm welcome to our newest Ka-Arangkada — Sid!” the caption on the said post read.

Onwubere previously played for Titan Ultra then NorthPort Batang Pier in Season 49.

The two-time PBA champion with Ginebra then saw himself without a team in the days leading up to the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup.

But just over a month since being released by the Giant Risers, the 32-year-old has found a new home.

Now, Onwubere joins a team that already boasts of star guard Robert Bolick, as well as standouts Kevin Alas, Xyrus Torres, Javee Mocon and Brandon Ramirez.

NLEX currently sits at No. 2 with Rain or Shine and San Miguel at 5-2.

Onwubere’s arrival certainly gives the Road Warriors the boost as they make a push for a Top Four finish in the elimination round.

He is expected to make his NLEX debut Sunday, Nov. 16 against, incidentally, Titan Ultra.

Like most sportswriters, Jan Ballesteros once dreamed of becoming a professional hooper. But he learned the hard way that it’s not for everyone.

He continues to be involved in the sport he loves, but this time as a member of the PBA Press Corps. Aside from primarily covering the PBA, he is also assigned to cover Gilas Pilipinas.
