RK Ilagan laced up and joined the pre-game warm up, but ultimately postponed his return to action for Blackwater in the PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

While his return would have given the Bossing a boost, Ilagan is making sure he is fully recovered from a left meniscus injury before seeing action, according to a report by Apple David.

Without him, Blackwater fell to Titan Ultra, 86-97 in All-Filipino action, marking the team’s fourth-straight loss.

His backcourt partner, Sedrick Barefield, paced the team with 18 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Troy Malilin (17 points) and rookie Dalph Panopio (15) also stepped but they did little to help the Bossing get over the hump.

The Bossing now sport a 1-4 record.

The pint-sized Ilagan is expected to suit up against Converge on Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Before going down with the injury, the spitfire guard was averaging 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds 3.0 assists, and 2.5 steals for Blackwater.

Like most sportswriters, Jan Ballesteros once dreamed of becoming a professional hooper. But he learned the hard way that it’s not for everyone.

He continues to be involved in the sport he loves, but this time as a member of the PBA Press Corps. Aside from primarily covering the PBA, he is also assigned to cover Gilas Pilipinas.
