Japeth Aguilar and the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings look to end their early-season woes when they face the red-hot NLEX Road Warriors in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup on Sunday, November 2.

Gametime is 7:30 p.m. at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The Gin Kings (1-3) are in unfamiliar territory, enduring their worst start since the 2018 Commissioner’s Cup, as noted by PBA chief statistician Fidel Mangonon III.

Their latest defeat came in Dubai, where they fell short in an 81-83 thriller against San Miguel.

Aguilar led the way with 20 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks, while RJ Abarrientos added 17 points, seven boards, and four assists.

Scottie Thompson came close to a triple-double with 15 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists, but his potential game-winning four-point heave missed at the buzzer.

After a shaky start, Ginebra showed flashes of its championship form, rallying from a double-digit deficit before running out of time against the Beermen.

Now back home, the Gin Kings will try to regain their footing and climb out of the lower half of the standings.

However, they’ll have to overcome an NLEX side (4-1) riding high after three straight wins — including a 99-88 victory over Blackwater that pushed them into contention for the top spot.
