PBA legend Marlou Aquino joined his former teammate Kelly Williams in the league’s homecoming on the eve of the opening of its 50th season.
Upon entering the Meralco Theatre for the PBA Homecoming, Marlou Aquino gave his former teammate Kelly Williams a big hug Saturday, Oct. 4.
Aquino almost instantly turned nostalgic.
“Masaya akong nagkita kami ni Kelly. Nagksasabay kami sa Sta. Lucia, nag-champion din kami. Bata pa siya noon. Kami 'yong kuya niya noon,” Aquino told One Sports.

The PBA legend was referring to Sta. Lucia’s Philippine Cup conquest in the 2007-08 season, when he was already at the tail end of his decorated career.
Seeing Williams still give the league's bigs a run for their money at his age of 43, Aquino could not help but be proud of the former Most Valuable Player.
“Oo, (marami akong naituro sa kaniya). Ako 'yong parang kuya niya. Masayang-masaya lang na nagkita kami,” said Aquino, also known by his moniker, "The Skyscraper."

The two joined former and current players who convened in celebration of the league’s 50th anniversary.
Members of the 50 Greatest Players like Atoy Co, Alvin Patrimonio, Manny Victorino and Benjie Paras also graced the event.
“Masayang-masaya ako kasi part ng buhay ko itong PBA. Masayang umabot ng 50th year,” Aquino said.

He continues to be involved in the sport he loves, but this time as a member of the PBA Press Corps. Aside from primarily covering the PBA, he is also assigned to cover Gilas Pilipinas.
