Rafi Reavis brings a wealth of experience and championship pedigree to a youthful Converge FiberXers looking to make some noise for PBA 50.
Rafi Reavis got a new lease on his basketball life, signing with the Converge FiberXers in time for PBA Season 50.
The lanky big man will enter his 23rd season in the league, but this time in a different uniform after being released by Magnolia last month.

At 48, the 11-time PBA champion joins a youthful Converge roster with many players almost half his age, as Kevin Racal is now the second oldest on the team at 34 years old.
But Converge head coach Delta Pineda still sees value in Reavis, second overall pick of the 2002 Draft.
According to Pineda, Reavis’ arrival will give their twin towers of Justin Arana and Justine Baltazar fresh legs, especially when things get hectic.
“Rafi can give us four minutes per quarter. Para makapag rest Balti and Arana,” Pineda told One Sports via text message.
With his arrival to the FiberXers, Reavis brings in a wealth of experience and championship pedigree to a team that has yet to breach the semifinals.
After spending his first seven seasons with Coca Cola and Ginebra, Reavis was shipped to the Purefoods franchise where he really made a mark.
There, he won seven championships including the rare Grand Slam in 2014 before his tenure with the Hotshots ended.

Like most sportswriters, Jan Ballesteros once dreamed of becoming a professional hooper. But he learned the hard way that it’s not for everyone.
He continues to be involved in the sport he loves, but this time as a member of the PBA Press Corps. Aside from primarily covering the PBA, he is also assigned to cover Gilas Pilipinas.
