PBA no. 2 pick Juan Gomez de Liaño joins a stacked young Converge core alongside Alec Stockton, Schonny Winston, Justin Arana, and Justine Baltazar.
Juan Gomez de Liaño is thrilled with the future Converge laid out for him on Sunday during the PBA Season 50 Draft.
Gomez de Liaño had this to say moments after being tabbed with the second overall pick by the FiberXers at the Mall of Asia Music Hall.
“I love their plan for me. We’re on the same page. My goal is to win a championship. I can’t wait to represent Converge,” he said.

However, Gomez de Liaño is keeping the details of the said plan close to his heart for now.
But what he could reveal is that he is certainly excited to team up with the FiberXers' young core, which feature the likes of Alec Stockton, Schonny Winston, Justin Arana, and Justine Baltazar.
“We got a young core. We got a lot of great players, especially arguably the best two local bigs, Justin Arana and Justine Baltazar. We got Schonny Winston and Alec Stockton. I can’t wait to play with them,” he said.

Gomez de Liaño, who played in Lithuania, Japan, and South Korea before heading home, vowed to not let Converge down.
“I can’t ask for more. I’m blessed to be chosen by Converge. I know the team owner, the coaching staff, all the bosses,” he said.
“I wouldn’t let them regret their pick. I’m just going to do my best.”
