Juan Gomez de Liaño is expected to go as high as the top overall pick in the PBA Season 50 Draft.
After strutting his wares overseas, Juan Gomez de Liaño felt it was the perfect time to return home and apply for the PBA Season 50 Draft.
Pressed to elaborate, Gomez de Liaño felt he was ready for this new chapter, having played in various international competitions in the past four years.
“I feel like it’s the perfect time. I've been overseas for four years. I gained a lot of experience there. Kumbaga, nagpa-mature muna ako ng sarili,” Gomez de Liaño said.
Gomez de Liaño admitted he had options to continue playing abroad but knew that the PBA is certainly the right path for him right now.

Since leaving the Fighting Maroons, he took his talents to Japan, Lithuania and, lately, with the Seoul SK Knights in the Korean Basketball League.
Those experiences made him a better player.
“Just growth-wise, honestly, it helped me develop as a better player. Just understanding the game a lot more,” Gomez de Liano said.

The highly touted guard is expected to go as high as the top pick in a 128-man pool that also included the likes of Dalph Panopio, Jacon Brickman and Geo Chiu.
“I'm just going to bring a lot of energy and a lot of leadership as well [to the team that will draft me]. Just a floor general who can make the right plays,” he said.
