Juan Gomez de Liaño could be sharing the basketball court soon with his older brother Javi.

With the older Gomez de Liaño set for a PBA comeback after his rights were traded to the Magnolia Hotshots, Juan now has the chance to either face him in the PBA — or even possibly be teammates with him via the PBA Draft.

“Or we could be teammates. So who knows?” Juan quipped when he was asked about facing his brother.

“Honestly, you know, it’s always been a dream of mine, growing up here in the Philippines. I’ve been watching the PBA since I was [a] kid so, yeah, it’s gonna be fun,” Gomez de Liaño added.

After playing in Japan, Lithuania, and South Korea, Gomez de Liaño now relishes the chance to once again share the court with his brother in Philippine soil.

Both brothers previously had the chance to do so in the Korean Basketball League when Javi played for the Anyang JKJ Red Boosters and Juan with the Seoul SK Knights.

Having last been together in the Philippines during their UAAP days with the UP Fighting Maroons, Gomez de Liaño is excited to make waves anew with his sibling — this time as professionals.

“Javi, you know, we grew up playing together, we’ve been teammates since middle school. So, it’s gonna be fun, honestly, we’ve never played together against each other in the PBA. So definitely looking forward to it,” Juan said during his appearance at the Pilipinas United 3x3 League.

Should he make his PBA Draft plans official, Gomez de Liaño will be among the most talented prospects in this year's class that already includes the well-travelled Jason Brickman and former NCAA MVP Will Gozum.

The PBA Season 50 Draft is set for September 7, and deadline for applicants is on August 29.
