Paul Zamar is expected to bring a lot to the table for the Blackwater Bossing in PBA Season 50.
There’s value to players with experience.
That’s what Blackwater coach Jeff Cariaso said after signing veteran playmaker Paul Zamar ahead of the PBA’s golden season.
Cariaso sees the 37-year-old guard as a key piece in his youth-laden roster as the Bossing look to take it to another level this season.

“There is always room for a veteran on a team especially if he’s had low mileage in his career as of late,” Cariaso said of Zamar.
Blackwater owner Dioceldo Sy also saw how impactful veterans can be in any team after watching the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup Finals between San Miguel and TNT.
Cariaso couldn’t agree more with the big boss.
“What Boss Dioceldo (Sy) saw in the Finals is absolutely true. There’s value to players with experience,” he said.

Before making his entry into the PBA in 2018 by way of Blackwater, Zamar was making a splash overseas playing for Mono Vampire in the ASEAN Basketball League.
The former University of the East gunner brought that to the PBA, especially when he donned the San Miguel colors, playing back up to Chris Ross and Alex Cabagnot and helping the team win three championships.
After three years with the Beermen, Zamar was shipped to NorthPort where he had an up-and-down stint.
After missing most of the games owing to an ACL injury and being let go by the Batang Pier at the end of the previous season, Zamar is expected to come in with a chip on his shoulder.
“We are hoping Paul can come in motivated to play and of course share the knowledge he has gained all these years with his younger teammates,” he said.
