Already a champion in the B.LEAGUE and KBL, Changwon LG Sakers ace Carl Tamayo hopes to also land in the PBA to round out his professional basketball career.
Home is still where the heart is for Carl Tamayo.
Tamayo reiterated his dream of playing in the PBA one day, envisioning a perfect ending to his basketball career in the league he grew up watching and idolizing.
“I want to finish my career sa PBA. I don’t know when, pero kapag dumating ‘yun syempre, gusto ko maglaro sa PBA,” the KBL and B.LEAGUE champion shared.
Tamayo was recently spotted during Game 7 of the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup semifinals between the Barangay Ginebra and San Miguel, a tense outing which the Beermen won.
Coincidentally, the two teams shared a common denominator when it comes to the former UP standout’s dream PBA teams to play for if given the chance. But Tamayo remains open to any possibility down the line.
“Saan man ako mapunta, I’ll be happy and honored mapunta sa PBA,” he added.

And his dream teammates?
“Si kuya June Mar [Fajardo]. Simula ‘nung bata ako, siya na ‘yung idol ko. Sina kuya Scottie [Thompson]. Hopefully, maabutan ko pa sila,” Tamayo revealed.
The trio—Tamayo, Fajardo, and Thompson—are all expected to lead Gilas Pilipinas in the upcoming FIBA Asia Cup 2025 next month in August.
Besides Tamayo, KBL-bound Arvin Tolentino was also in attendance as the two shared a moment together. Adding to the star-studded atmosphere, celebrities Daniel Padilla and Zanjoe Marudo were also present in the crowd.
