Injured and all, Calvin Oftana played on to help TNT win and vowed to do the same should the Tropang 5G need his services in Game 5, when they could close out Rain or Shine in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup semifinals.
Apparently, Calvin Oftana hurt his ankle twice in TNT’s 108-92 Game 4 win over Rain or Shine in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup semifinals Wednesday, July 2.
Oftana bared this shortly after the match at the SM Mall of Asia Arena that gave the Tropang 5G a commanding 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

It turned out, he hurt his left ankle in the first period, before his other foot stepped on Gabe Norwood’s on the way down to their court in the fourth period.
The TNT winger wanted to win so bad he shrugged both off and played on.
“Oo (namamaga pero) malayo sa bituka yan. Nasimulan na to, tapusin na natin,” Oftana told reporters.
“Ganun talaga buhay, pag kaya pa, talagang igapang mo na. Si Lord na bahala. Sana pagalingin to ngayong gabi.”
Asked if he would play in Game 5, Oftana answered in the affirmative.
Unless of course the the Tropang 5G are already playing well they wouldn’t need his services.
“Lalaro talaga ako. Kailangan ko maglaro eh. Pero 'pag di naman ako kailangan, sa Friday if ever di naman ako kailangan , ok naman takbo, 'di ako lalaro,” he said.
The Tropang 5G can close this one out in Game 5 on Friday, July 4, with the chance to return to the Finals for the third straight time this season.
Expect Oftana to show up and out for the team gunning for a Grand Slam.
“Dikdikan na to eh. Wala na kailangan irason na masakit eh. Gamot na lang pag asa talaga nito. Feel ko naman 'di sya masyado masakit. Pero baka adrenaline lang. Pero mga PT namin sila na bahala,” he said.
