San Miguel didn’t waste time in disposing of NorthPort, 126-91, in the PBA season 49 Philippine Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo Sunday, June 15.

With their 35-point romp over the Batang Pier to end their elimination round campaign, the Beermen clinched the top spot and the twice-to-beat advantage that goes with it in the quarterfinals, which begins on Wednesday, June 18.

SMB collected an 8-3 mark.

Cjay Perez and June Mar Fajardo led the early Beermen onslaught that allowed them to take a 58-37 lead at the break.

There was nothing the Batang Pier did that made a dent.

NorthPort wrapped up its conference with only a pair of victories against nine losses.
