With a top-two seed still within reach, CJay Perez and the streaking San Miguel Beermen aim to keep their momentum going when they face the Converge FiberXers in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup on Wednesday, June 11.

Gametime is set at 7:30 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Winners of four straight games, the Beermen (7-2) continued their late elimination-round charge after a gritty 120-111 win over Rain or Shine last week in Cagayan de Oro.

San Miguel led comfortably for most of the game but had to dig deep in the closing minutes to stave off a furious Elasto Painters rally.

Perez once again led the Beermen with a near triple-double of 33 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and three steals. Don Trollano added 24 points, while the ever-reliable Fajardo anchored the middle with 20 points, nine boards, and four dimes.

With two games left in the eliminations—including a final matchup against NorthPort—San Miguel controls its fate in the race for a twice-to-beat advantage in the playoffs.

Standing in their way is a dangerous Converge squad (6-4) that recently snapped a skid with a 117-103 victory over Terrafirma. The FiberXers, however, will need to bring their best against a Beermen side that’s hitting their stride at the perfect time.
