Mikey Williams should be set for a PBA return, but in a Convege jersey.

This after the TNT traded the signing rights of the two-time PBA Finals MVP to the FiberXers for Jordan Heading.

The PBA finally approved the transaction on Monday, June 2, nearly a week after the deal was first reported.

With this trade, all signs point to Williams making a PBA comeback after a two-year absence. His last game was Game 6 of the PBA Season 47 Governors' Cup Finals, where he led the Tropang Giga to the title against Ginebra.

Contract negotiations with TNT fell apart after that title conquest, his second PBA championship following the 2021 Philippine Cup.

With Heading, the Tropang 5G have found someone who can fill the shoes left by injured stars Jayson Castro and Rey Nambatac. TNT is in the middle of its Grand Slam chase after winning the Governors' Cup and the Commissioner's Cup, with Castro and Nambatac named Finals MVP, respectively.

Heading led the FiberXers to the quarterfinals in this season’s Commissioner’s Cup, where he emerged as a strong candidate for the Best Player of the Conference award.

He averaged 17.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and almost six assists per game.

But he has yet to see action in the ongoing Philippine Cup owing to back spasms.
