TNT dropped injured star Jayson Castro to the Unrestricted Free Agent list on Tuesday, May 20.

But make no mistake about it. The Tropang 5G main man isn’t exactly going anywhere.

After all, Castro is still recovering from patellar tendon tear on his right knee he suffered in Game 2 of the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup semifinals against Rain or Shine.

The 38-year-old cager, twice hailed as Asia’s Best Point Guard, is expected to be out for at least 10 months.

Stars being put on the said list, however, is no longer surprising.

Such was also the set up for Ginebra’s prized playmaker and assistant coach LA Tenorio, who was also placed on the free agent list.

Tenorio, though, asked to be scratched off from the lineup for the meantime. He would focus on handling the Gilas Pilipinas Youth seeing action in the FIBA U16 Asia Cup SEABA qualifiers in Pampanga from May 24 to 30.

After that, Ginebra coach Tim Cone said the eight-time PBA champion will return to the lineup.

Meanwhile, Rey Nambatac was placed on the Injured/Reserve list. Ping Exciminiano was activated in his stead.

Nambatac will be out four to six weeks because of a pulled groin.
