Meralco Bolts' Cliff Hodge and Magnolia Hotshots assistant coach Mon Jose appeared before PBA commissioner Willie Marcial the following day after the bench-clearing incident.
Cliff Hodge didn’t get away scot-free after what his hard foul on Zavier Lucero in Magnolia’s 117-92 win over Meralco in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup on Wednesday, May 15.

The PBA on Friday, May 16 handed the Bolts forward a P100,000 fine and a one-game suspension following what appeared to be a wrestling move on Lucero at centercourt with two minutes and 16 seconds remaining and the game already in the bag for the Hotshots.
In the bench altercation that ensued, Magnolia assistant coach Mon Jose was seen also head-butting Hodge.
For such act, Jose was fined P20,000 and banned for a game.
Commissioner Willie Marcial summoned Hodge and Hose the following day to hear their sides and advised both to keep their emotions in check at all times.
