Ginebra relegated the veteran playmaker to the UFA list on Tuesday, April 30, to give space for Jayson David.

Tenorio is a seven-time champion with the Gin Kings, four of which he was hailed as Finals Most Valuable Player.

But after surviving colon cancer, the 40-year-old star saw his minutes dip, and he gradually eased into the role of a playing-assistant coach.

David, meanwhile, was Ginebra’s 20th overall pick in 2022 but played sparingly in two seasons.

The Gin Kings made this unexpected move just days after absorbing a 93-104 setback to San Miguel and a day before their game against NorthPort in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup.
