PBA: Get to know Rain or Shine rookie Francis Escandor

Francis Escandor is looking forward to his first season in the PBA with Rain or Shine, saying that he will just deliver what is asked of him by the team that picked him at 13th overall while having fun.

 Escandor, who was instrumental in La Salle's conquest of the University of the Philippines in the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball finals, now lives his dream.

 "I'm super excited kasi siyempre, ito na 'yun, pros. Everyone's been dreaming about this," said Escandor.

 

"My expectations, I am a rookie. So I'm just going to give whatever coach asks and what the team asks of me. I'm just going out there, have fun and have the greatest energy ever," he added.

 Escandor signed to a one-year deal with Rain or Shine, which looks to make great strides in the Governors’ Cup slated to open Sunday, Aug. 18.

 

To get to know him more, Escandor gamely entertained fun questions in a brief chat with One Sports.

 His pre-game routine, he said, is listening to music.

 And who does he listen to? Justin Bieber.

 

“Probably listen to some music and pray. Kumbaga, to just silence the noise," said Escandor.

 "Probably, Justin Bieber," he added.

 Put "Beauty and a Beat" on repeat as it is Escandor's favorite song by Bieber.

 As for what he liked better between beach and mountain, Escandor chose beach.

 Fans might also get to see him try out the controversial four-point line as he picked it over the three-point area: "Four points na ngayon. Try lang."
